AI campaign video for a cantonal administration
For an awareness campaign on physical activity in everyday life, AWEO developed a short, realistic-looking film with generative AI. The task: a credible story in just a few seconds, without text on screen and without a voice-over.
Updated:
The concept in one sentence
“A person finds their way from inner heaviness to noticeable lightness through a simple walk.”
The tone: cinematic, but credible and approachable. No gym aesthetics, no glossy advertising, no exaggerated joy.
Design
- Told purely visually, without text and without a voice-over
- Cinematic, realistic style with a calm, observing camera
- Light moving from cool and muted indoors to bright and warm outdoors
- One main character who looks the same across all scenes
From storyboard to film
- 1
Storyboard
Each scene gets a duration, shot, camera, light, mood and direction for the character.
- 2
Continuity bible
One main character with a fixed appearance, fixed clothing and fixed props. This description applies to every scene.
- 3
Sketches
For each scene, a storyboard sketch is created first to agree on composition and sequence.
- 4
Start and end frames
For each scene, start and end frames are created as realistic stills. Only when both are right is the movement in between generated.
- 5
Clear exclusions
For each scene it is defined what must not appear: logos, text overlays, dramatic gestures, glossy looks.
- 6
Editing
The scenes are put together into the finished film.
What we take away
Consistency is not created during generation but in preparation. The more precisely character, clothing and light are described, the less waste there is.
Exclusions are just as important as descriptions. Without them, AI tends towards exaggerated expressions and advertising aesthetics that seem implausible for a public-sector topic.
